The 2011 Mind&Brain Prize is awarded to:
 
Daniel Dennett, Center for Cognitive Studies, Tufts University, Medford (MA):
     
 
For his fundamental work on the nature of consciousness, and for his contribution to a philosophy of mind based on empirical research and grounded in the principles of evolutionary biology.

Henrike Moll, Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig (DE):
 
 
For her creativity and originality in designing experimental paradigms aimed at assessing social cognition abilities in early infancy, and in convincingly combining experimental research with large-scale theoretical reflection.

The award ceremony will be held in Turin on October 12, 2011 at 3.15 p.m.
